Confirmed ticket = go. 2A if you can swing it. 3A in that week = AC with uninvited plus-ones. Pack snacks and the RailMadad app, not main-character expectations.
what you’re actually boarding
11061 leaves LTT ~11:30, takes ~38 hours, hits Prayagraj, then Varanasi, then keeps going toward Darbhanga / Jaynagar. On paper: 2A, 3A, sleeper, general. 1A is not the plot.
It’s the Mumbai–UP–Bihar daily. Office crowd, hometown crowd, mela crowd. November turns the volume up.
why that week is messy
Diwali 2026 is early Nov. Third week is leftover festival traffic + Chhath + “yaar chalte hain ghar.” Prayagraj and Varanasi will not be chill. If someone climbs into 3AC “for pilgrimage” with no berth, they are not going to have a deep conversation with your footrest first.

This is where “sir ye AC nahi raha” lives. Aisle, toilet corner, extra people. Mid-Nov 3A = assume company you didn’t book.
what this is not saying
- Every 11061 that week is doomed. It isn’t.
- Ticket checking never happens. It does. Randomly.
- You’ll get robbed / the train will vanish. Different movie.
- Sleeper/general are safer. They are louder.
Risk in human words: decent chance extra people in AC, highest in 3A. The pattern is real. Your exact date might be normal. It might also be a video.

- Confirmed berth only. RAC that week is a dare.
- 2A over 3A if you can.

- Don’t argue with six people at 1am. Wait for the next big station and get staff.
